What is the curriculum?
Students ages 5-12, explore various art techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, paper mache, and much more.
Can I walk in to register day of class?
All registrations are taken via our website. If a session is full you may add yourself to the waitlist and we will e-mail you if a spot becomes available.
Can my child attend just one week of camp?
Camp sessions run two weeks each. Only rarely can we break up the sessions for campers to attend just one week. This is for two reasons- first, the two week chunk of time gives the teachers and students a chance to bond and for the projects to develop. Second, because we usually sell out with campers attending the full two week session, we need to give those campers priority. That being said, it can’t hurt to email us just prior to the start of the session to see if space is still available for a camper to come just one week.

Are there any discounts?
There is a 10% discount for Museum Members or for the second sibling attending the same session. Please e-mail us for the coupon code to use at registration.
When do I get my confirmation for class?
You will receive an e-mail confirmation as soon as you complete the online registration form and process full payment. In that email there will be a link with a welcome letter and important information for the start of camp.
There will be a $25 cancellation fee 7 days prior to the first class and no refunds after such date.We do not give a refund for no-shows or children who miss class for any reason.
Are there make-up classes?
We do not have make-up classes, partial enrollment discounts or scholarships.
Will my child be repeating projects if he/she is registered for more than one session?
We have children that attend several sessions during the summer. The curriculum for each session is different and we try not to repeat the same projects.
What does my child do all day at camp?
- Camp begins at 9:00 a.m.
- Drop off is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in the circular driveway of the Lowe Art Museum.
- Each day your child will be taken directly from your car by an assistant and into the Lowe Art Museum’s lobby at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
- Campers will be escorted by Beaux Arts staff to the classroom area.

- 9:15-10:30 Lesson 1
- 10:30 Snack
- 10:45 Lesson 2
- Noon- 1:00 Lunch Break/Recess (note: our camp is nut free. Please do not send food items with nuts)
- 1:00-2:00 Completion of morning project or Lesson 3
- 2:00 Dismissal
Campers will be brought to the circular drop off area at the front of the Lowe Art Museum and placed into your car. All campers must be picked up by 2:00 PM without exception. Whomever is picking up the child must show the pickup pass that we will have given out on the first morning of camp, or they must be ready to show photo identification and be on the approved dismissal form.
*Drop Off Notes:
Beaux Arts does not offer supervision of students prior to 9:00 a.m. For the safety of all children, please refrain from leaving your child in the lobby of the Lowe Art Museum or outside the Children’s Pavilion classroom unattended. The receptionist and staff of Lowe Art Museum are not part of our summer camp program and should not be asked to supervise children prior to the start of camp. If you arrive early, please wait with your child until a Beaux Arts staff member arrives to take them to the classroom area. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Failure to follow drop off procedures may result in child’s removal from art camp without a refund.
What is the age breakdown?
Our camp is offered to 5-12 year olds, in the Pavilion, children are separated by age, but they are in the same room. Every session differs with the breakdown of ages. 5-7 year olds are grouped together and 8-12 year olds are grouped together. There is an art instructors, art assistants and/pr camp counselors. The ratio of art instructors/assistants to children is 1 to 6. Art instructors are teachers; volunteers may be past students of the camp, high school or college art students.
Where are the bathrooms?
Bathroom facilities are inside the Pavilion.
Snack and Lunch questions?
During camp we offer a snack and water. Campers need to bring their own lunch. Lunch is eaten picnic style in the grass outside of the studio. In inclement weather lunch will be eaten inside. This is a NUT FREE PROGRAM. No lunches or snacks with nuts will be allowed in the classroom.
Is there Aftercare for Summer Camp?
Beginning in the Summer of 2015 Beaux Arts camp will be offering an aftercare program on site from 2:00-5:00. Children will be kept safe and entertained by a senior counselor. They will play board games, play outside and watch movies and programs. The fee for aftercare is $150 per two week session and can not be prorated. Parents should please send an extra nut free snack in their child’s lunchbox if they think their child might want a mid afternoon snack. Please note that our counselor will be ready to go home at 5:00 sharp and your prompt pick up will be appreciated. We know that things happen but in the case of chronic late pickups we will have to charge a penalty fee of $50 and/or we reserve the right to cancel the aftercare registration and not provide a refund. We hope you understand. We look forward to providing this new aftercare service!
What do we do when a tropical storm or hurricane is approaching?
For any tropical storm/hurricane approaching please be advised that we follow the Miami-Dade School advisory for the school session. If a storm is approaching during the summer we will follow the Hurricane Advisory for all Miami-Dade residents. If there are any changes or the camp cannot open for some reason you will receive an email alert from us.
