Beaux Arts Virtual Art Camp with the Lowe Art Museum
Each week, campers will explore themed artwork from the Lowe
and create their own art projects at home.
Monday – Thursday
11:00 AM – Noon
$105 per week, including an art supply pack
Parents will need to pick up the art supply pack from the museum on Thursday prior to classes
between the hours of 12:00 – 3:00pm
or the Monday morning of class between the hours of 8:00 – 10:00am.
JULY 6 – 9: Art Around the World
Take a virtual trip around the world through art!
Join us for a virtual journey to Ancient Egypt, China, Japan and America.
Your child will learn to create an art project based on works of art from different cultures around the world
based on the collection of the Lowe Art Museum.
Each class will include an interactive discussion about a featured work of art,
a demonstration of the project, and live art instruction.
Monday: Chinese brush painting
Tuesday: Japanese Origami project
Wednesday: Ancient Egyptian style profile self-portrait
Thursday: Native American blanket design
JULY 13 – 16: Art Time, Story Time, Summertime!
Art inspired by children’s book illustrations!
Join us for a virtual exploration of illustrated stories as we create art
inspired by great children’s picture books each day.
Your child will hear and see examples of children’s books, then be guided through a related art activity.
Featured books and art projects will include:
Monday: “I Spy” by Walter Wick – Collage and watercolor pencils
Tuesday: “Tar Beach” by Faith Ringgold – Fabric project
Wednesday: “Spike in the City” by Paulette Bogan – Dog pen and ink with blown straw background
Thursday: “Bird, Butterfly, Eel” by James Prosek – Oil pastels project
